During the weeks of November 28th-December 14th, WDE students were challenged to earn as many 100’s on Accelerated Reader tests as possible. The catch was students were working for a reward for their teacher! Mr. Andy Stafford, a fifth grade teacher, was the recipient of a car detail cleaning! His students made 100% on 515 books during that time. That was an average of 24.5 tests per student. During that time, WDE earned close to 5,000  points for AR. Congratulations to all of the students and teachers! Submitted by Jessica Dawkins.

Under the direction of Mrs. Kristy West, students from Walton Middle School's Career class delivered Christmas cheer to Chautauqua Rehabilitation and Nursing Center residents.  Beforehand, students donated items to fill over forty gift baskets.  On Thursday, December 15th, the class hand-delivered the baskets during the center's annual Christmas party.  The experience was a rewarding experience for both students and residents.
