Services:

Students are encouraged to come to the Library Media Center (LMC) to check out materials for research and reading enjoyment. During lunch, students may come to the LMC with a pass to enjoy magazines, study, or quietly relax.

School Store:

School Supplies are sold in the LMC. The following items are available for purchase in the LMC.

  • Index cards (3x5 or 4x6):  $2.00
  • Poster board (white):  $0.50
  • DVD:  $1.00
  • CD:  $1.00
  • Copies (black only):  $0.10 each

Checking Out Books:

All students may check out up to two books at one time for a period of two weeks.  All material may be renewed for one additional two-week period.

Computer Access:

There are six computer workstations in the Library Media Center.  These workstations may be used to access online reference databases, browse the school's and district's collections (via Destiny), and conduct Internet searches.  Microsoft Office software is available on these computers, so students have the capability to complete word processing documents, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, etc.  Accelerated Reader quizzes and STAR assessments may also be taken on all workstations.

Accelerated Reader:

Participation in the Accelerated Reader Program is encouraged by all teachers. There are over 3200 AR titles available for students to check out.  In addition to classroom incentives, students are recognized for participation in AR. Semester parties are held to recognize students gaining at least 50 AR points. Other recognition items are available for points such as athletic tickets, candy, McDonald coupons, Pizza Hut coupons, and movie coupons.  If you want to know if a book is in the AR program, you can check in the Destiny software program by going to the "Catalog" tab, and finding the book's name.  If the book is AR, underneath the book's title will be the level and points the book is worth.
