This past week, PHS's Cross Country senior runners were recognized in a Multi-school senior day recognition ceremony. Congratulation to our seniors: Philip Anderson, Jacob Morgan, Tristan Petty, Connor Gaither, Caylor Dixon, and Zachary Wilson. West DeFuniak welcomed a huge number of dads on the morning September 25th for Donuts with Dads. Donuts with Dad is a special event that brings families into the classroom and gets them involved at school. This year, the dads visited the classrooms with their students, and participated in a wide variety of classroom activities such as reading an Accelerated Reader Book and S.T.E.M Projects. It was great to see so many dads today! WDE would like to thank our local Kiwanis Club, law enforcement, and Walton County Fire Rescue for serving as surrogate dads.
Nearly 300 “Dads” were on hand yesterday to help build boats, design airplanes, create towers, and strategize to sink ships, among other fun activities. It was hard to tell who had more fun – the children or the adults!

Eighth grade advanced science students at FMS participated in a recent NASA Mission where they selected locations on Earth for the Space Station to photograph. The students had to interact with a NASA's model to find locations globally within 35 miles of the space station orbits, review weather models to find cloud free days, and then submit image requests directly to the space station. Superintendent Russell Hughes and the entire WCSD congraulates South Walton High School Girls Basketball Coach Kevin Craig on his induction into the Florida High School Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame. Coach Craig was recognized for his achievements as a girls basketball coach at Fort Walton Beach and South Walton High Schools.
