All of Mossy Head School students met the February Attendance Challenge of 95% of attendance or more! Each student received a piece of tape and "stuck" Mrs. Hinote onto the wall. Amazing job, Mustangs!”
FHS Students Ryan Lechner and Martha Freeman Selected to Attend the 2016 CHELCO Youth Tour in Washington, D.C.

Freeport High School students Ryan Lechner and Martha Freeman were recently selected to represent CHELCO and Walton County in the 2016 Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. Seventeen students were selected by area schools to participate in the first part of the youth tour experience. After an interview, Ryan and Martha were among the four chosen to represent CHELCO's service territory. We are very proud of both Ryan and Martha for representing Freeport High School well.

ECMS History Team Wins Big at Regional Competition

Congratulations are in order for the ECMS History Team. Last Friday, team members Beau Adams, Witt Kessler, Nick Lee, Rachel Mc Cann, Maddox Rhea, Dalton Robinson, Emma Sewell, Nick Sirmans, and Cooper Weakly competed in the Birmingham Regional Finals of the National History Bee. The students represented ECMS well. Nick Sirmans took first place overall and Witt Kessler, Maddox Rhea, Dalton Robinson, Nick Sirmans, and Cooper Weakly were among a small group of students who advanced to Nationals in Chicago. Way to go ECMS History Team!

SWHS Sophomore River Springfield has been selected as a finalist in Photographer’s Forum magazine’s 36th Annual College & High School Photography Contest. His photograph was selected from over 10,000 entries from students in the United States, Canada and around the world.
WHS AVID Students Celebrate Read Across America Day

AVID students read to Head Start and Maude Saunders Elementary students in celebration of Read Across America Day (March 2). This annual reading motivation and awareness program calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. Both the younger and older students enjoyed the experience, which put a spotlight on the importance of reading.
