We have some exciting news! During Celebrate Literacy Week, several students submitted entries to a contest sponsored by the Florida Department of Education. Congratulations to Brixlee Allen for winning 1st place in the K-2 division for the state of Florida!!! Brixlee, a second grade student, read a book about Benjamin Franklin and then did a fabulous job illustrating it and writing about what she learned. West DeFuniak Elementary will receive $500 worth of books for the library for Brixlee's winning entry. We couldn't leave Brixlee out. She received a bag of her favorite goodies and a $50 Amazon gift card. Join us in congratulating her for this wonderful achievement. You can listen to Brixlee read her paper on this link. https://youtu.be/1WHz-xHh0cM

On Saturday, our eighth grade Warriors basketball team hosted the championship tournament and took the win.  If you see these student athletes, congratulate them and let them know how proud we are of them.

Coach Mike Davis would also like to give a huge shoutout to the parents and fans at Saturday afternoon's game.  Their enthusiasm and support helped rally the boys to victory.

It's great to be a WMS Warrior!

Mrs. Greer Harvell works hard to ensure her students learn through as many hands-on STEM experiences as possible.  This week, Sea Perch students built rovs, while eighth grade science students explored pH and suspensions.  Science makes so much more sense when it is interactive and collaborative.

Walton High School students participated Friday night, February 5th, in the first virtual Solo and Ensemble event. This event, hosted by the Florida Vocal Association (FVA), brought 12 schools and 123 students together, virtually, to showcase their skills. We are proud of our students and Mrs. Tredway, our Chorus Director/Teacher, for representing WHS with excellence and distinction.
