If your child is enrolled in Geometry, Algebra I or Algebra I-B, he/she will be required to take a state administered end-of-course (EOC) exam that will count as 30% of his/her final course grade. To assist students with preparing to take and pass their EOC, WHS will be hosting math EOC preparation camps beginning April 14th. These math preparation camps will focus specifically on preparation for the Algebra I and Geometry EOCs. Students must pass the Algebra I EOC in order to receive a standard high school diploma. Due to COVID 19, the Geometry EOC can count as the Algebra I EOC graduation requirement for any student who was enrolled in an Algebra I EOC tested course for the 19-20 school year. It is essential that students show proficiency on both of these assessments in order to continue momentum towards high school graduation.
Participating students will meet every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 4:30, beginning April 14th. Snacks will be provided, but you must have available transportation to pick your child up at 4:30. Included in the related files below, you will find a letter addressed to students. Please complete the bottom portion of the student letter and return it to your WHS math teacher by April 12th. If you have questions, please contact your student’s math teacher or Mr. Smith, Assistant Principal, at 850-892-1270 ext. 4409.
We hope to see your child soon at math camp!
