A School
Dear Braves Family,

Today, we celebrate history.

The school grades for the 2025-2026 school year have officially been released, and I am incredibly proud to share that Walton High School has earned a 73 —an "A" school grade—the highest school grade in our school's history.

This achievement is something our students, teachers, staff, families, and community should all be proud of.  It represents countless hours of hard work, perseverance, collaboration, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

But while we celebrate this milestone, I also want to recognize something equally important.  A school grade tells part of our story—but it doesn't tell all of it.

It doesn't measure the freshman who found the courage to try out for a sport they had never played before.

It doesn't capture the standing ovations earned by our talented students in band, chorus, theater, and every corner of our fine arts programs.

It doesn't count the thousands of hours our students spent serving others through community service projects, making Walton County a better place because they chose to give back.

It doesn't reflect the students who represented Walton High School with excellence while earning recognition at the district, state, and national levels in academics, athletics, career and technical education, leadership organizations, and countless extracurricular activities.

It doesn't measure the friendships formed, the obstacles overcome, the confidence gained, or the moments when students discovered who they are and who they are becoming.

It doesn't account for the teachers who arrived early, stayed late, believed in students when they doubted themselves, or quietly changed lives one conversation at a time.

And it certainly doesn't capture the heart of this school.

At Walton High, we believe success is measured not only by scores and accountability points, but by the character we build, the opportunities we create, the relationships we foster, and the lives we impact.

Our "A" is certainly worth celebrating. It is the result of intentional work, high expectations, and a shared belief that every student can succeed.

But what makes me most proud is not simply the letter.

It's the people behind it.

To our students—thank you for showing resilience, determination, and what it truly means to be a Brave.

To our teachers and staff—thank you for your relentless commitment to excellence and for loving our students well every single day.

To our parents, families, and community partners—thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and walking alongside us throughout this journey.

This historic accomplishment belongs to all of us.

As we celebrate today, we also look ahead with excitement. We know our best days are still ahead because we will continue to focus on what has always mattered most: serving students with excellence, leading with heart, and ensuring every Brave has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Thank you for believing in Walton High School.

Once a Brave, Always a Brave.

With gratitude,
Ms. Brianna Leavins
Principal, Walton High School
