Our boys golf team made a great showing yesterday in the Byron Nathan Invitational Tournament. Twenty high schools participated, and Walton placed 5th! Aiden Anderson was Walton's lead score and placed 3rd overall. He was joined by Carter Douglass and Timmy Busby (seniors), Gavin Sconiers (junior), and Parker Hinote (freshman).
The Braves will be back in action Thursday when they host Chipley and Marianna at Eagle Springs Golf Course. ⛳

Walton’s cross country ran at Paxton today against Paxton, Laurel Hill, and Baker. The boys team was led by Gage Fleetwood (5th place), Rem Sullivan (7th place), and Deegan Devlin (9th place), and the girls team was led by Katie Bray (9th place). GO BRAVES!

Walton's golf teams traveled to Gulf Breeze yesterday and finished 3rd in the tournament! ⛳ Aiden Anderson and Carter Douglass led the way for the Braves finishing in the top 10. Parker Hinote (freshman), Gavin Sconiers (junior), and Timmy Busby (senior) also contributed in the effort. The Braves will host Vernon today at Eagle Springs, where the girls will see their first action of the season. GO BRAVES!
Walton Golf opened their season yesterday against South Walton. Representing the Braves were seniors Carter Douglass, Timmy Busby, and Cole Mitchell, along with juniors Gavin Sconiers and Aiden Anderson. Parker Hinote joined the crew from our freshman class. Carter Douglass led the Braves coming in just two over par. ⛳

Thursday night was the Walton County Youth Farm Bureau Speech Contest. For this contest, students are tasked with writing and presenting a speech that answers the question, “What are some of the proactive, collaborative steps that farmers, ranchers, local communities and organizations like Farm Bureau can take to help guard against invasive species threatening Florida agriculture?”
Walton High School had three students compete in the contest. Hayden Arnold, Ashton Black, and Carleigh Davis competed as representatives of both Walton FFA and the Walton Leadership Class. Carleigh Davis placed 2nd in the contest!
Each student did a phenomenal job presenting their speech. From the pasture mealybug to the giant African land snail, our students educated the audience on the importance of identifying, and preventing, invasive species. Their speeches also included the Florida agricultural organizations that play a part in protecting Florida agriculture from invasive species.
Congratulations to Carleigh Davis for placing 2nd! We are so incredibly proud of our students and their participation in this event!

After serving as Chapter Co-Vice President for two years, he has remained committed to serving both his school and community through volunteering and leadership.

We're so excited to announce Randi McKie as our new TSA/Assistant Principal and AJ Warren as our new guidance counselor for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! 🎉
✨ Mrs. McKie earned a Bachelor's degree in physics and a Master's degree in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College, as well as Master's degrees in School Counseling (from the University of West Alabama) and Educational Leadership (from American College of Education). She’s been a part of our Braves family since 2011, serving in numerous roles including science teacher; AP physics teacher; guidance counselor for grades 9-12; testing & dual enrollment coordinator; and softball coach.
✨ Mr. Warren earned a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. He's been a part of the Walton Braves family since 2021, serving as a government & economics teacher. He is also the FBLA advisor and will continue serving in this role next school year. AJ is excited to begin his new position as guidance counselor. As a foster parent, he has a heart for helping students and is passionate about supporting them through whatever challenges they may face while encouraging them to reach their full potential.
