We'd like to welcome Coach Layne Stine as our Head Volleyball Coach! Check out her bio below, and join us in welcoming her to our Braves family.
I’m incredibly excited and honored to step into the role of Head Volleyball Coach at Walton High School. This opportunity means more than just coaching — it’s about building a culture of excellence, accountability, and growth, both on and off the court.
Over the past 15+ years, I’ve been fortunate to coach athletes at nearly every level — from grassroots to varsity to elite national teams. Most recently, I had the privilege of leading the Sharks 13 Navy to a National Championship at the 2025 AAU National Championships in Orlando. That experience reaffirmed my belief in what young athletes can achieve when they buy into a team-first mentality, trust the process, and are challenged to push beyond their comfort zones.
From 2019 to 2024, I served as the Varsity and Junior Varsity Head Coach at Rocky Bayou Christian School, where we focused on building a strong program rooted in discipline, character, and work ethic. Before that, I coached high school varsity and junior varsity at Fort Walton Beach High School (2008–2011), along with several club teams across multiple age divisions, including:
- Sharks 14-1 Navy (2024)
- Sharks 12U (2023)
- Sharks 15U Navy (2022)
- Sharks Grassroots (2021)
- Challengers Grassroots (2020)
- Pilialoha 12U (2008–2009)
- Gulf Coast Select 13U (2007–2008)
Each of these roles has shaped me into the coach I am today — someone who values relationships, demands excellence, and believes in developing strong, confident young women who can lead both on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
At Walton, my goal is to elevate the program by creating a competitive, high-energy environment where players are supported, challenged, and inspired. We’ll build on fundamentals, compete with heart, and grow as a team every single day. I’m looking forward to working with our athletes, families, and community to take Walton Volleyball to the next level.
Let’s get to work, Braves!

What an unforgettable last day for our seniors! The morning started with a heartwarming trip down memory lane as we watched the senior video—full of laughter, a few tears, and plenty of cherished moments. After reviewing important details for capping and graduation, the class of 2025 celebrated in true summer style: with pizza and a giant water slide! 🍕🌊
The joy, the memories, and the spirit of this class are something special. Here’s to a fantastic finish and an even brighter future ahead! 🌟

Days 3 and 4 of Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week:

Today, a dessert bar full of cookies, cake, chocolate, and Rice Krispies was provided in the lounge during lunches. 🍪🍫😋 In addition to each daily treat, staff members also received WHS mugs & shirts, and drawings were held every day for a variety of prizes.

📚 Mrs. Warren’s 9th grade AVID class wrapped up the week with a FUN TWIST! 🏐
After a week filled with intense test preparation and getting ready for state testing this month, Mrs. Warren’s AVID students took a well-deserved break by engaging in a spirited game of sit-down volleyball. This unique version of the sport, where players remain seated on the floor, offered a fun and inclusive way to unwind and foster teamwork.
The laughter and camaraderie on display were a testament to the students’ hard work and the supportive environment cultivated in the classroom. Activities like these not only provide a mental break but also reinforce the collaborative skills emphasized in the AVID program.
Kudos to Mrs. Warren and her students for balancing diligence with delightful downtime! 🎉

We'd like to give a shout-out to our cheerleaders for hyping up the Pre-K Special Olympics participants today! 📣
