We are 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐅𝐔𝐋 that coming to school paid off for these students! This Friday we'll hold another drawing for a $25 gift card. While in attendance, Carleigh Davis and Chloe Bendure had the opportunity to network with other agriculture students from across the state, hear from current UF students, and learn about the Agricultural Education and Communications (AEC) program. They also had the opportunity to tour the campus & learn about the history of UF, scholarship opportunities, and how to become a Florida Gator.

⭐ 𝐄𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐎'𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐬 (nominated by Ms. Jolene Pentz): Eddie goes above and beyond to help with anything we need. He helps not only our students but our teachers, as well. He is trustworthy, kind, and very helpful.
⭐ 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 (nominated by Ms. Leslie Harrison): Nicholas works hard in class. He is always eager to tackle whatever I throw his way.
⭐ 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 (nominated by Ms. Arielle Rhodes): Gracie is a positive person with a heart on fire for Jesus. She always makes a point to say good morning to everyone, making her peers feel seen and loved. Her joyful attitude and kind spirit have such a powerful impact on those around her, and she never fails to brighten my day. Gracie is truly the sweetest!
⭐ 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐘𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (nominated by Mrs. Brandy Shambo): Darren is always in a good mood, hard working, and willing to help others. He enjoys a good joke and since he is in my first class of the day, he helps my day begin on a positive and happy note.
While they didn't advance as a team, they did have two girls make it individually due to their consistent play throughout the season. Seniors Fountain and Andrews represented Walton at the Regional Tournament in Jacksonville yesterday. Out of 66 girls that were invited, they finished in the middle of the pack.

“It’s a moment of pride for our students who have worked so hard. I have been the principal of Walton High School for 5 years, and we have improved every year. Our kids have gotten on board with the culture of taking rigorous classes and making sure they are prepared for college and career. This week was a busy week for our Walton FFA members! We had several students show animals at the Walton County Fair.
🐷 Ashton Black, Finley Kelley, and Fallon Ray showed off their market swine projects on Tuesday night. These students purchased their animals at the end of the school year last year and spent the summer raising and training their animals. Students compete in two different shows with their swine projects: showmanship and the market swine show. During showmanship, students demonstrate their ability to control and work with their animal, and they demonstrate their knowledge on raising a market swine. Our three FFA members did an outstanding job at the market swine show on Tuesday!

🐰 Hayden Arnold, Marlie Cortes, Carleigh Davis, Bradley Holimon, Athena Horton, and Rhylie Upton showed our Ag department’s rabbits at the Walton County Fair on Wednesday night. During rabbit showmanship, exhibitors must demonstrate their knowledge on all things rabbits. Exhibitors must judge their rabbit from nose to tail in front of an official rabbit judge. Our FFA members did an amazing job showing off both their skills and knowledge on Wednesday night!

For showmanship, FFA members must examine their rabbits in front of the rabbit judge. The members are looking at the structure and health of the rabbit during their evaluation. They must also show their knowledge of all things rabbits by answering questions asked by the judges. The questions can range from the breed and age of the rabbit to how to identify common diseases in rabbits.
Hayden was named the Senior showmanship champion, and Rhylie was named the Reserve Champion in showmanship! 🎉 It was an awesome show day for our FFA members!
